Dr. Laura Feinstein of the Pacific Institute to Participate in Panel on Oil and Gas Injection Practices

On Monday, January 28th, Pacific Institute Senior Researcher Dr. Laura Feinstein will participate in the Independent Review Panel at the public meeting on the Department of Conservation’s Underground Injection Control Program at Cal-State University, Bakersfield.

The purpose of the meeting is to inform the public about California’s Division of Gas Underground Injection Control Program, hear the community’s input, and develop the scope of the panel’s review. “Underground injection” is the process of injecting fluids underground in wells operated by the oil and gas industry. This meeting follows the first meeting held in May 2018, which Dr. Feinstein also participated in. Experts as well as those who are unfamiliar with underground injection are welcome to attend.

The meeting will take place Monday, January 28th from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM PST at Cal-State University in Bakersfield.
