Lillian Holmes joined the Pacific Institute as an intern in summer 2019. She will be working to expand the CEO Water Mandate’s Water Action Hub, a global online collaboration and knowledge sharing platform for water sustainability projects. The Pacific Institute is co-secretariat of the CEO Water Mandate, which mobilizes businesses to advance water stewardship and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through public commitments to action.
In the past, Lillian worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the UC Berkeley Department of Agriculture and Resources, where she explored the environmental effects of vehicle tax rates, and as an intern at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab conducting literature reviews and data discovery for a hydrogeological modelling project. She says she enjoys the communications aspect of corporate outreach, having previously worked as a reporter and a technical writer.
Lillian graduated from UC Berkeley in 2019 with a double major in English and Environmental Economics and Policy. She received the Agriculture and Resource Economics Departmental Citation. She says she is excited to join the Pacific Institute because of the Institute’s history of conducting vital research for the public interest. Having consulted Pacific Institute reports during her past work, Lillian particularly values “the Institute’s emphasis on making this important research available to everyone.”
Outside of work, Lillian enjoys rock climbing, reading, and playing the violin.
