Ilsa Ruiz Hughes joined the Pacific Institute in 2021 as a Senior Communications and Events Manager for the CEO Water Mandate. She oversees the development of targeted strategies to amplify the Mandate’s messaging and advance the initiative’s mission to mobilize the private sector to advance water stewardship. 

Prior to joining the Pacific Institute, Ilsa worked in strategic communications and public relations in the academic, nonprofit, and public sectors. She also led water replenishment projects in Latin America for the FEMSA Foundation.  

Ilsa holds a B.A. in Spanish Literature and Linguistics from Tecnológico de Monterrey with a specialization in Latin American Studies and Modern Languages.
