On Wednesday, October 24th, Pacific Institute President Jason Morrison will speak at the 2018 Textile Sustainability Conference in Milan, Italy. His keynote speech “Apparel Sector’s Water Stewardship Opportunity” will explore water stewardship trends for the apparel sector and the United Nations Global Compact’s CEO Water Mandate’s water stewardship collective action initiative “Businesses for Water Security in the Noyyal-Bhavani.” This project is an innovative collective action water stewardship initiative begun by several apparel companies — Gap Inc, Levi Strauss & Co, and PVH Corp. — and the CEO Water Mandate. The project’s main activities include setting corporate water targets and prioritizing solutions to address shared basin water challenges and reduce business water risk. Mr. Morrison’s keynote will take place from 10:05 AM to 10:35 AM on Wednesday, October 24th at the Milano Congressi.
Mr. Morrison will also participate in the panel for the breakout session, “Solutions for a Thirsty Industry,” highlighting innovative practices on water stewardship throughout the apparel value chain and how to scale and accelerate water stewardship and collective action. The breakout session will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM on Wednesday, October 24th at the Milano Congressi.
