Pacific Institute President Jason Morrison will attend the 30th UN-Water Meeting in Rome, Italy from Thursday, January 31st to Friday, February 1st, 2019. Among other events, Mr. Morrison will participate in the SDG 6 Integrated Monitoring Initiative Steering Committee meeting on Wednesday, January 30th.
The purpose of the 30th UN-Water Meeting is to convene members and partners engaged in the UN reform process. Items on the agenda include: updates on the Water Action Decade 2018-2028 plan; progress on the UN-Water SDG 6 Synthesis Report 2018 on Water and Sanitation and the Public Dialogue; and updates on the World Water Development Report for 2019 and 2020.
UN-Water coordinates the efforts of over 35 international organizations working on water-related issues. This year’s meeting will be held at the headquarters of The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
