Meet Our Communications Intern Jae Sim

September 13, 2019

Jae Sim joined the Pacific Institute in the summer of 2019 as an intern. He works with the communications team tracking media mentions, updating the organization’s media database, and assisting with the website. He has also helped edit the Water Conflict Chronology database.

Jae is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree at Princeton University, where he is currently deciding between majoring in either at either the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs or in economics. On campus, he regularly writes opinion pieces for The Daily Princetonian, which he says naturally led him to take interest in communications-related work.

Jae says he is “more than thrilled” to help out at Pacific Institute, especially with the organization’s Water Conflict Chronology. “I have a personal interest in studying water-related conflicts,” he explains, “and that’s an area where the Institute specializes in generating important research.” Asked what else he has learned while at the Institute, he says, “I’ve learned a lot about both domestic and international water challenges through helping expand the Institute’s outreach efforts.”

In his spare time, Jae likes to play guitar, watch Netflix, play basketball, or go explore Yelp’s highest-rated restaurants around his neighborhood.
