World Environment Day Workshops a Success

"Solving Water Challenges in the 21st Century" and the "West Oakland Environmental Victories Tour" were a success! Each event was at capacity and received excellent response Thanks to all who helped to put them on and thanks to all who attended.

The Pacific Institute and Earth Day Network created "Solving Water Challenges" to detail looming threats to the world's fresh water resources and provide practical solutions to help policy makers protect water supplies, improve efficiency, and ensure fair access at the local and regional level.

The talk featured Dr. Peter H. Gleick, President of the Pacific Institute and Director of the Water and Sustainability program; Dr. Gary H. Wolff, Principal Economist and Engineer with the Pacific Institute; Dana Haasz, Water Conservation Administrator with the City of San Francisco; and Larry Farwell, an independent consultant who has worked with U.S. and overseas governments. (Although Mr. Farwell was not able to attend due to illness, Peter Gleick gave his presentation.)

Jamais Cascio has posted an excellent summary of the event on the WorldChanging.com website. If you have questions or would like a specific slide or graphic from the presentation, please contact our media team.
