Tien Shiao, Senior Research Associate at the Pacific Institute, will speak in two sessions at the CDP’s 2017 Water Forum on Tuesday, November 7 at the Indiabulls Finance Center in Mumbai, India. In the first session, she will give a presentation titled “Thirsty for Change? Ensure Long-Term Business Growth in a Water Stressed World.” The presentation will focus on current practices in the corporate water setting, establishing a clear pathway for companies to move from a basin efficiency approach to a more advanced approach of context-based target setting. The session will take place from 15:40-16:35.
In the Forum’s fourth session, Shiao will give a presentation titled “The Business Alliance for Water and Climate: Preparing for and Adapting to New Climate Realities.” The presentation will familiarize businesses with the Business Alliance for Water and Climate Change (BAFWAC), its origins and purpose, and a number of relevant case studies. The fourth session will take place from 16:50-17:45.
The CDP’s 2017 Water Forum will focus on how companies can stay ahead of the sustainability reporting curve and learn how to bring best practice water management to their business. The four-session forum will comprise high level panel discussions showcasing an exchange of knowledge from the latest in corporate water stewardship from the CDP’s 2017 Global Water Report and sustainability reporting, perspectives in advancing water security, and interactive workshops led by the CEO Water Mandate, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wildlife Fund.
