On Thursday, October 11th and Friday, October 12th, Pacific Institute President Jason Morrison and Senior Researcher Amy Herod will participate in a panel discussing “Partnerships and Collaboration for Sustainability” at the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) Forum in London. The water innovation roundtable they will attend is a multi-sector event exploring the private sector’s role in supporting the delivery of the SDGs, with focus on water valuation approaches and experiences; innovative approaches to partnerships; and creative delivery models and financing options.
The ICMM is an international organization that seeks to promote a safe, fair, and sustainable mining industry. To achieve this mission, the organization collaborates with industry, governments, NGOs, and civil society partners to strengthen social and environmental performance. ICMM’s work revolves around the idea of “mining with principles,” and the organization has developed a water stewardship framework that adopts a catchment-based approach to water management.
