New Release: Drinking Fountains and Public Health 
The new Pacific Institute report Drinking Fountains and Public Health: Improving National Water Infrastructure to Rebuild Trust and Ensure Access investigates the disappearance of public drinking fountains in the U.S. It finds that concerns over cleanliness and potential disease transmission are factors in the decline, but the problem is larger than the water fountains themselves.

Future Outreach 


On March 22, President Jason Morrison will attend UN-Water’s World Water Day Summit and Expo in Durban, South Africa. The theme of this year’s World Water Day is “Wastewater: The Untapped Resource.” Jason will serve as a panelist in a session entitled “Water Reuse and Resource Recovery: Best Practices, Innovation and Capacity Development.”

Empowering Civil Society to Improve Business Respect for Water and Sanitation Access in India
Future Outreach  
On April 25, along with the Freshwater Action Network South Asia the Pacific Institute will co-host a workshop entitled “Empowering Civil Society to Improve Business Respect for the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation” in New Delhi, India. The workshop will convene 25 representatives of Indian-based civil society organizations to learn how to use the United Nations CEO Water Mandate’s Guidance for Companies on Respecting the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation in their ongoing engagements with companies in India.

Water Affordability in California

Past Outreach   




On February 8, Senior Research Associate Laura Feinstein presented on a water affordability panel for the State Water Resources Control Board in Sacramento, California, where she provided input on a potential plan to offer bill discounts to low-income water customers in California.
