Talking Water at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development
 
The United Nations Global Compact’s CEO Water Mandate, for which the Pacific Institute is co-secretariat, will participate in a number of events at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development from July 9th to 18th in New York. Pacific Institute President Jason Morrison will speak on catalyzing private sector engagement on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).

“Stormwater is an abundant supply in California and it should be captured, treated and used. And by using it, communities can address the three issues of pollution, flooding, and water supply,” says Research Associate Morgan Shimabuku in Q&A with Tara Lohan of Water Deeply. “It really is a great solution for a community to become more resilient to climate change.”

Meet Our Summer Intern McKenzie Bradford
 

In June, McKenzie Bradford joined the Pacific Institute under the Congressman George Miller Water Policy Leadership Grants Program. The goal of the program is to train the next generation of water, sustainability, environmental, and economic justice leaders through mentoring and experience-building.

Multi-Benefit Stakeholder Convening in Minneapolis

 

What are the positive and negative impacts of water investment options, from water reuse to stormwater management? On July 12th, the Pacific Institute hosted a meeting in Los Angeles with a group of diverse stakeholders to examine how the multiple benefits of water investment strategies can be incorporated into decision making.
