Pacific Institute President and co-founder Dr. Peter Gleick, who has led the Institute for nearly thirty years, will transition to president emeritus and chief scientist on July 1, 2016.

The Salton Sea: The Next Chapter
On March 10, Senior Research Associate Michael Cohen presented “The Salton Sea: The Next Chapter” at the 9th Annual Imperial Valley Renewable Energy Summit in Holtville, California, where he pressed the needed for urgent action on behalf of the Salton Sea.

World Water Day
On March 22, World Water Day, Pacific Institute President Peter Gleick attended the first national White House Water Summit in Washington, D.C., where he discussed national water strategies and policies with senior White House staff and other key stakeholders.


Meanwhile, Corporate Sustainability Program Director and head of the CEO Water Mandate Jason Morrison spoke at the launch event for the WASH4Work initiative in New York City, which focused on ways to mobilize the private sector to address water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) challenges.
